God's Word is the final authority in the Church.  Our foundational values are recorded here in an attempt to express and pass on that which God has emphasized to us.  Please let us know, if you have any questions.

  • GateWay Church is committed to know God, His character and His ways.  We affirm the vital importance of hearing God's voice, seeking His counsel and obeying His instructions.
  • We are called to make God known, through our personal witness, evangelism, training, and mercy ministries.
  • We recognize the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
  • We are visionary, doing new things in new ways where new initiatives are required to accomplish the "Great Commission."
  • We are interdenominational in that we believe that cultural and racial diversity are positive factors and contribute to the health and growth of the Church.
  • We affirm the necessity and importance of the local church for our spiritual maturity.  We believe that everyone who calls himself a Christian should be in "covenant relationship," established in and faithful to a local church body through their attendance and support.
  • We believe in the unity of the Body, and endeavor to work in partnership with other Churches and leaders, building bridges and tearing down walls of division between God's people.
  • We believe we are all called to fervent praise and worship of the Lamb, to intercessory prayer and spiritual warfare.
  • We affirm the importance of living holy and righteous lives.  The flesh can, and must be controlled for the glory of God to be revealed in His people.
  • We believe in the ministry of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher in the Church for the "maturing of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ."
  • We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit in the Church as mentioned in 1 Cor. 12:1-10.  We affirm also that "all things be done in order," under the direction of the Pastoral leadership.
  • We believe in the value of the family.  In the scriptural responsibility of the husband and father, wife and mother to each other and to their children.  To "train up a child" in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
  • We are dedicated to being relationship oriented in our living and working together.  We desire to minimize the need for structure and rules by living lives of transparency, humility, and open communication in covenant relationship with one another.
  • We believe in personal responsibility and involvement, encouraging individuals to seek God for guidance and direction concerning ministry roles.  A healthy Church is made up of individuals who not only receive, but give, of their time, energy, talents, etc.
  • We believe in the value of each individual.  We seek to honor all equally within the Body of Christ.  No roles or ministries are more important or necessary than others, but it takes everyone, doing their part, working together for the Church to be successful.
  • We believe we are called to practice a life of total dependence upon God for all provision, both corporately and individually.
  • Above all, GateWay Church seeks to walk in and obey the "royal law" of love, for without love, nothing else matters.  "The greatest of these is love."  (1 Cor. 13:13)
